GEHA PPO dental insurance offers a variety of dental preferred provider (PPO) plans for individuals and families and covers all or portions of a wide variety of covered services. Sunnyvale Dentist Dr. Gupta is a GEHA PPO dental insurance provider.
Like most dental insurance, GEHA PPO dental insurance plans have annual maximums, deductibles, and cover a percentage of dental procedures under three categories: Major, Basic, and Preventative.
Examples of Major Restorative Services are: Partial Dentures, Full Dentures, Crowns, and Bridges. Most GEHA PPO dental insurance plans cover major services at 50%.
Examples of Basic Restorative Services are: Routine Tooth Extraction, and Composite Fillings. Most GEHA PPO dental insurance plans cover basic services at 60% to 80%.
Examples of Preventative Diagnostic Services are: Exams, X-Rays, Fluoride Treatments, Basic Child and Adult Cleanings, and Sealants. Most GEHA PPO plans cover preventative services at 80% to 100%.
Some GEHA PPO dental insurance plans have waiting periods for basic and/or major services. This period of time that a patient has to wait for certain procedures to be covered may range from six months to a year. The team at Sunnyvale Dental Care will assist you in determining if you have a waiting period.
Annual maximums may vary from $1000 to $3500. Annual deductibles may range from $25 to $100 per year per person. Some GEHA PPO plans also have separate Orthodontic coverage.
Some procedures may be covered under medical insurance and not dental insurance such as temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) treatment. Some procedures have age limitations such as sealants, fluoride treatment and orthodontic treatment. Dental coverage for dependent children is also limited by age.
Visiting a GEHA PPO Provider like Sunnyvale Dentist Dr. Gupta will allow you to maximize your insurance benefits at a lower out of pocket cost than you would incur with a non- GEHA PPO provider who doesn’t accept GEHA PPO’s lower fees. At Sunnyvale Dental Care our insurance coordinator will help you navigate the sometimes confusing world of dental insurance and help you understand your individual coverage. They will also submit your dental claims directly to GEHA for you and follow up on any unpaid claims and provide further documentation if necessary.
