First Health Network dental plan maximum refers to the total dollar amount allowable for dental health coverage during a benefit period, which is typically 12 consecutive months, or one calendar year. Based on your particular plan, you may have a considerable maximum allowable, such as $2000 per benefit period, or a less comprehensive plan with a maximum of $1000 to apply toward your dental care. Not all services available to you here at Sunnyvale Dental Care will qualify as covered benefits through First Health Network. For example, cosmetic procedures like teeth whitening will not be covered by your dental insurance. However, most preventive care (like cleanings) restorative treatments (such as fillings) and major restorative treatments (such as crowns, implants and bridges) are covered benefits. It’s also important to understand that not all procedures will be covered at 100% and the remaining percentage will be your responsibility.
Deductible is a term referring to the amount you have to pay for dental services before your First Health Network plan will begin to pay for dental care expenses. Many services require a deductible to be paid first, but some do not. Deductibles can be a nominal fee, around $25-75 and are required only once during a benefit period.
