Employers usually present multiple options of dental insurance with different levels of coverage to their employees. Or perhaps someone is shopping for an individual plan to purchase on their own. Some people are even fortunate enough to have two or more dental insurance policies. If you are trying to decide which policy to pick, you may wonder how to choose the best one.
You will want to pay careful attention to the annual maximum benefit amount, the deductible, the coverage percentages and the limitations, frequencies and coverage rules. Be sure to read the fine print. Once you’ve made a decision, to receive the lowest cost dental care, you’ll want to visit a dentist who is a preferred provider for your dental insurance policies. Sunnyvale Dentist Dr. Gupta is an Ameritas Dental PPO in-network provider who will not charge you more than the amounts allowed on the Ameritas Dental PPO fee schedule.
If you have dental insurance through Ameritas Dental PPO insurance and another carrier, The Sunnyvale Dental Care insurance coordinator will submit your dental claims to both companies for you. To get the most from your dual coverage it is important that they be submitted correctly.
After Sunnyvale Dentist Dr. Gupta completes your comprehensive examination he will present to you his findings and listen to your concerns regarding your dental health. Together you will decide on the treatment to pursue. When your treatment is completed, Dr. Gupta will have his insurance coordinator submit your claims to Ameritas Dental PPO insurance and the additional insurance carrier.
If Ameritas Dental PPO insurance is your primary insurer, they will be billed first. If everything goes as planned, Ameritas Dental PPO insurance will then submit a payment and explanation of benefits to Sunnyvale Dental Care. A second claim will be submitted to the secondary insurance carrier. They will be notified of the payment amount received from the primary insurance carrier. This will help the secondary insurance company calculate their payment.
Does this sound confusing? It can be, so the Sunnyvale Dental Care staff will handle all of the paperwork for you. You will only need to supply the number that each insurance company uses to identify you and your date of birth.
