Assurant Dental PPO Insurance Exclusion, Limitations, Frequencies, and Missing Tooth Clause

Like most major insurance carriers Assurant Dental PPO insurance plans cover a portion but not all of your dental treatment claims, and like most major insurance carriers Assurant Dental PPO insurance policies contain exclusions, limitations, have frequency rules and sometimes a missing tooth clause. Frequency limitations determine how often a patient is allowed to receive a covered service. Dental Cleanings may be covered every six months or two times per calendar year. Also, exams may be limited to two or three times per years. Bitewing dental x-rays may be permitted every six months or every 12 months. Limitations may also influence the type of material used. For instance, a policy may require that a metal crown be placed on certain teeth rather than a porcelain crown.
Some recommended services may be excluded altogether while a cheaper alternative is allowed. Although many dental insurance policies are beginning to cover dental implants, they are sometimes not a covered service because there are less expensive ways to replace missing teeth.
When we examine your Assurant Dental PPO insurance policy we will be sure to note whether or not it contains a missing tooth clause. If it does, any tooth that was extracted before insurance coverage began would not be eligible for replacement. The entire cost of an implant, partial denture, denture, or bridge would be your responsibility.
